Creaticon is Coming to Blind Brook

Creativity and exploration are being celebrated at Blind Brook with Creaticon, an event bursting with amazing projects and exhibitions from various students in arts, music, engineering, animation, computer science, robotics, and film. On May 15,  the doors open at 5 PM, and visitors can spend the next couple of hours exploring the innovation of the Blind Brook school district.

Mrs. Rosenbaum, the director of the Fab Lab, described Creaticon as a “celebration of creativity for students from kindergarten through twelfth grade”. “We’ve been trying to incorporate more of what we call ‘DICE’, which is design, innovation, creation, and expression in all of our classes,” she explained, “so this is an end-of-the-year showcase where students who have been doing come show what they’ve created and the community gets an idea of the amazing work of Blind Brook.”

The following is a list of activities and exhibitions that will be presented:

  • Animation & iMovie Showcase
  • Digital Music Demonstration
  • Art Display Panels
  • Middle School DICE & Young Engineering Projects
  • ArtsMobile Printmaking Activity
  • Robotics Demonstration
  • Junior Jellies Engineering Activity
  • Lego Stamp-Making Activity
  • Green Screen Activity
  • Laser Engraving Demonstration
  • Marshmallow Launching Activity
  • Climate Aware Fair Games
  • Block Building Engineering Challenge
  • Paper Crane-Making Activity

Parents and students will get to experience everything, from the student art displayed in the hallway to the various engineering challenges set up around the school, and even a dazzling robot demonstration by the Blind Brook High School robotics team, where visitors will get a chance to drive the robot themselves.

Creaticon was reintroduced to Blind Brook last year, and there’s no doubt that this year will be even more exciting than the last. This is the perfect chance for the community to gather together and celebrate the creativity and designs of students.
