MUN for the Win!

The Blind Brook High School Model UN team kicked off the season with huge success at the Princeton Model UN Conference, held from November 20-23. The delegation brought along 28 students to compete in this prestigious conference. The members of the Blind Brook High School team participated in different committees, each with a main topic or crisis. They came up with thorough and thoughtful resolutions to address some of the most pressing issues facing the world today. Eighteen individuals from the group were awarded recognition for their hard work and dedication during their committees. 

Congratulations to the following delegates who received individual awards:

  • Best Delegate: Amrit Mohapatra
  • Outstanding Delegates: Noah Dweck, Andy Montvelisky, and Mallory Schwartz
  • Honorable Delegates: Ashley Brookman, Lily Cullagh, Daniela Dluzhevskiy, Sara Levine, Julia Mensch, and Dylan Striar
  • Verbal Commendations: Amaira Agrawal, Danielle Elkowitz, Dora Lopes, Rory Mayer, Jackie Rosen, Tatum Schwartz, Audrey Sweeney, and Lenna Zacharoulis

Along with these outstanding 18 individual awards, Blind Brook High School was honored as a group with the award of Honorable Delegation. With this team award, the Blind Brook High School delegation received a total of 19 awards, which was a record-setting amount for one conference!

Club advisor, Ms. Simmons, was so proud of all of the accomplishments of the team. When asked about their success, Ms. Simmons wanted to highlight the Honorable Delegation award that the group received because it showcases all of the hard work and time put into preparing for this conference.
