Blind Brook Trojans Men’s Basketball Team Off to a Strong Start

The Blind Brook men’s basketball team has shown impressive early-season development, thanks to a strong blend of veteran leadership and talented newcomers. Headlined by senior captain Noah Brookman and junior captain Tyler Taerstein, the group thus far has been about setting up itself for a hopeful successful year. The Trojans have been doing well thus far, an energetic roster coupled with the excellent comradery instilled by new head coach Aguilar and assistant DiNardo.

Junior captain Tyler Taerstein has proven to be a player this year, averaging 18 points and 12 rebounds per game. He has been effective on both ends of the floor with his combination of scoring and rebounding. Tyler credits the team’s chemistry and hard work for his success: “It’s been a great start, and I think a lot of it has to do with how well we’ve been working together. We trust each other, and we’re all pushing to improve every day.”

Alongside Taerstein, senior captain Noah Brookman has been a key contributor, averaging 15 points per game. His ability to score efficiently, shoot 3’s like it’s nothing and provide leadership on and off the court has been crucial for the Trojans’ success. Brookman, a steady presence for the team, sees this as a special season. “We’ve really come together as a team, and it’s been amazing to see how everyone is stepping up. We know what we’re capable of, and we’re excited to keep building on this momentum.”

The guidance of head coach Aguilar and assistant coach DiNardo has been crucial in molding the success of the team. Coach Aguilar brings fresh eyes to the squad, focusing on discipline, teamwork, and mental toughness.

To celebrate as a team, the success and culture on and off the court is every Monday doing a study session right before practice to make sure teamwork and excellence off the court in the importance of education are set. Every other Saturday after practice, there is a team brunch with bagels and other food and refreshments that helps us bond even more as a team, which is very important for success on and off the court for us Trojans.

In addition to the leadership of Taerstein and Brookman, other key players have stepped up to contribute to the Trojans’ strong start. Sebastian Lim has been solid in his defensive efforts and gave quality minutes, while Jack Gold proved to be a versatile scorer. The sharpshooting of Cooper Smith along with his quickness has been a big plus, while the hustling and grit from Ryan Brown add depth to the squad, making the Trojans a very well-rounded, formidable group of players.

As the season wears on, the Blind Brook Trojans are in position to continue their success-oiled by strong team play and leadership. With the right mix of experience and youthful energy, the Trojans seem to be chomping at the bit to see just how far they can go this season!

The message from both captains is clear: “We’re just getting started,” says Tyler Taerstein. “This team has so much potential, and we’re ready to take it to the next level.” Noah Brookman adds, “We’re playing for each other, and that’s what makes this team special. We’ve got big goals ahead, and we’re focused on getting better every game.”

It’s going to be an exciting year with the successful start of the season by the Blind Brook Trojans.
