Outdoor Activities To Do in Westchester (Hidden Parks, Natural Trails, etc.)

Westchester County is filled with beautiful parks, trails and gorgeous sights, making it a great spot for outdoor activities. Being slightly upstate, there is enjoyable clean air in Westchester that attracts many visitors from around the state and country. When it comes to outdoor activities, specifically moving into the spring and summertime, Westchester has a lot to offer. All people can find something enjoyable in Westchester if they are looking for an outdoor adventure. 

There is a lot to offer throughout Westchester, both relaxing and exciting. Take a trip down to Yonker for Untermyer Gardens. Untermyer Gardens is a lovely, open garden where people can take in surrounding wildlife and plant life. This fascinating garden is a great spot if you enjoy sightseeing without too much activity. Not too far from there is Tibbetts Brook Park. Tibbetts Brook Park is an awesome location for jogging, biking, strolling, or even just exploring its numerous trails. It is a much more demanding experience yet enjoyable for someone who appreciates more activity in their exploration. 

More in Northern Westchester like Pleasantville, you may find Rockefeller State Park Preserve. Dogs on leashes are welcome, and there are several easy trails and large roads, making this a fantastic spot to walk. This is the perfect place for animal lovers. They offer a Wolf Conservation Center, the perfect opportunity to see animals that are not accessible in day-to-day life.The wolves are cared for greatly by the staff which is prepared to meet your every need upon arrival at the exhibition. A sandier adventure requires a trip to Rye Town Park and Beach. This beach has access to the Long Island Sound. They also have a park which includes paths for jogging and biking. Beside this beach is Rye Playland, an amusement park for summer days.  Westchester County is a fantastic location to enjoy nature and these are just a few of the fun places it offers!
